Recruiting is a lot like fishing. When reaching out to leads it’s a combination of luck and timing. Sometimes you catch great leads who are open to looking at new opportunities. The more you can plan ahead and prepare yourself the better response will you have back. There’s a lot of different tools that you can track users over social media. You can see when they update their LinkedIn profile summaries, resumes, or just websites in general. Below I’ve created a list that was inspired by Susanna Frazier. She’s been very active in presenting about social media tracking tools and I definitely wanted to highlight her recent work.

Get RSS and Atom feeds from your favorite websites and blogs sent to your email account in real-time, for free. Use this to track clients or candidates with blogs.
ChangeTower
Monitor, track, and archive website changes. Compare visual, text, keyword, image and HTML change history. Get detailed alerts over email. They have a free and premium version for this tool.
Dlvrit
Put your social media on autopilot. Automatically schedule and post blogs, photos, RSS, news and videos to Facebook, Twitter, & LinkedIn. You can also use this tool to create candidates, clients, or your competitors on various social media channels.
Feedly
Your central place to organize, read, and share the information you need to stay ahead of the next big trend in your industry. This one’s more for staying up to date on blogs and website news.
Indeed Resume
Create a free email newsletter based on your search criteria. I wrote a post on Boolean Strings about creating that email (here).
LinkedIn Recruiter
You can (star) profiles in LinkedIn Recruiter. Any updates on the profile will be sent right to your email address. If you save your search strings – they will also recommend updated user profiles on a weekly basis.
Spoonbill.io
Spoonbill is a fun tool for tracking profile changes of the people you follow on Twitter.
Talkwater
Talkwalker is an incredibly powerful social media analytics tool & social media monitoring tool recommended by brands and agencies worldwide. It’s a paid resource but comes highly recommended by our sourcing community.
Verisonista
Is a free way to monitor and track website changes. Detect changes to web pages, including PDFs. Get immediate website change alerts over email.
VisualPing
Visualping is the easiest to use website checker, web-page change monitoring, website change detector.
Owler Alerts
Owler is the world’s largest community-based competitive insights platform that provides real-time news, alerts & company insights to help you win. I mostly use this tool to find other company competitors.
Google Alerts
Save various search strings and Google will alert you over email. I wrote a full post on creating different tracking alerts with this tool (here).
