Breaking Connectifier is Officially Shutting Down

Connectifier Chrome extension is officially shutting down in April 2020. This is a huge blow for people that use this free extension for finding contact information on LinkedIn. Thankfully there’s many other contact finding tools that you can use and I’ve included an updated list (here) for further review.

From LinkedIn today:

New Recruiter & Jobs Platform. Amazon is still on the old platform and will likely be moved to the new system later in 2020. A confirmed timeline will be provided as soon as possible.

What have we done to replace the key benefits of Connectifier?

1. Coming in early 2020, we will be asking candidates who signal that they are Open to Opportunities to turn on their email and push notifications. This will enable recruiters to more directly surface their messages to candidates in their preferred way in the future.

2. As part of the New Recruiter & Jobs platform, there will be social profile links powered by Bing. Once Amazon is moved to the New Recruiter & Jobs experience, recruiters will be able to leverage these links to personalize their message so they can be more effective in their candidate communication.

3. Details on social profile links can be found here. Although personal email addresses currently found in Connectifier will not be made available in New Recruiter & Jobs, member emails may be surfaced on a candidate’s profile if members choose to share their email address within their own profile privacy settings.

On top of that news LinkedIn also announced that they would be shutting down the LinkedIn Sales Navigator extension in March. From LinkedIn directly:

“We continuously work with our customers and partners to focus on building and supporting the features that best help them build and maintain relationships with their buyers,” said Lindsey Edwards, LinkedIn’s product lead for LinkedIn Sales Solutions. “As a result of low adoption, we have decided to sunset the Sales Navigator for Gmail feature on March 18, 2020.”

This is a disappointing news to hear. Honestly, I’m frustrated with LinkedIn recent decisions on these tools. It should be interesting to see how our community reacts to this latest news.
