Using Blockspring in Talent Sourcing

Blockspring is a tool that most Talent Sourcers or Recruiters are probably not aware of. It’s similar to Phantombuster, Zapier, IFFTTT, and Airtable – which connect API’s and automate certain tasks. Blockspring was founded by three entrepreneurs Kasten, Pinkus, and Tokoph and there goal was to turn a billion non-technical users into software engineers across the globe.

The tool is part of a sweeping effort to bring coding skills to a wider swath of the population. Blockspring, is a series of coding API tools that can be used inside a spreadsheet either in Google Sheets or in Microsoft Excel.

“Instead of building new apps and teaching people how to use them—having to do all this extra stuff just to get value—what if there was just a way to have a product that could sit between the tools that people already love to use, and tap into the technologies that developers are building already?” Katsen asks.

Users and companies have been creating new applications and you can use these as “building blocks” to conduct various tasks. You can do a number of things with Blockspring: building out lists for lead generation or data enrichment, to building out reports for tracking, or building out landing-pages for marketing related functions. I gave a few “list” examples that you can use to automate certain talent sourcing tasks below:

How to use BlockSpring Lists in Talent Sourcing

1. Enriching Data:

Company URL Lookups using Bing Search
Company Enrichment using LinkedIn
Job Postings Search using Indeed

2. Finding Emails:

Employee Email Finder using Hunter.io
Verified Email Finder using Anymail
Validate Emails using Neverbounce

Pricing Models Includes:

  • Building Lists $29 per month
  • Building Reports $29 per month
  • Building Pages $29 per month

After I created an account on the site, Blockspring walked me through the whole process in simple step-by-step instructions. It’s honestly very easy to use and it gave me some great results. You don’t need any technical knowledge to build out some great lists, reports, or pages with this tool.
