Multi Highlight

As a Talent Sourcer in the tech space, I’m always looking for certain keywords on profiles. For example, I’ve been searching for Back End Developers with Java, RESTful, Spring, Hibernate, and Agile experience. When I’m viewing profiles on GitHub and Stack Overflow I sometimes struggle with searching for every keyword. Thankfully, there’s a browser extension called Multi-Highlight that does a great job of highlighting words on any website page.

Here’s an overview of the tool:

  • Search and highlight multiple words on web pages.
  • Highlight multiple English words on all pages.
  • All your keywords will be saved.

Multi-Highlight

Once you download the tool in Google chrome click on the “M” icon and add your search criteria. I would not recommend doing a full Boolean string but rather focus on individual keywords that you want to find on a page. Make sure to include each term within the bar and add a space between each.

For example:

java spring agile

If you have hundreds of tabs open in your browser this tool will become extremely helpful for you. It saves me around 30-60 seconds of my time per page while I scroll through to find the right keywords. Honestly, this tool alone could help save you 20-30 minutes of your day. You could use that extra time to focus on the outreach and engagement pieces.

Maybe you are new to the tech space and don’t know all the coding languages or general lingo? There’s a tool called GlossaryTech that helps users define words. You can read more about that extension tool (here).
