Reviewing AmazingHiring Search Engine Tool

AmazingHiring is a powerful search engine for locating technical talent, with over a million profiles in its database drawn from various sources. I had the opportunity to demo the features of AmazingHiring, courtesy of Yulia, without any compensation. I review tools like this solely for the purpose of learning about the latest talent sourcing tools. In my experience, I was extremely impressed with my search results. I was able to quickly compile a list of iOS mobile developers in Minneapolis and successfully reached out to a few applicants, one of whom is now in the final round of interviews.

 

Our recruiting world is changing. The top applicants in tech don’t post their resumes online and they are no longer that active on LinkedIn anymore. So, this tool solves this dilemma that we are facing. It offers a vast database of technical talent along with social media and contact information. My sourcing strategy has had to change within the last 2-3 years. I no longer use Boolean to search for resumes on search engines– the majority of my time is spent using Boolean to find users on social media.

 

My overall thoughts on AmazingHiring

If you’re mainly focused on finding tech talent, this would be a great tool to use. It has a simple user-friendly dashboard that allows you to add keywords to quickly create a Boolean search. Their database of users is pretty impressive and with a quick search, I was able to find a list of iOS developers without having to use LinkedIn. They were then easily able to respond to my intro email. Hopefully, AmazingHiring will continue to add users, optimize their consolidated profiles, pre-screen matches, and include more social media sites in the future. It will be interesting to see how AI technology will play into this search engine tool. I’m sure the team will be expanding in this area in the very near future.

The tool recognizes disparate Internet identities leading to the same person and unites them into a “consolidated profile.” Users sometimes have different usernames across different platform and they do a good job of matching them all together.

 

3. Technical Pre-Screen matching

Analysis of professional activity on the web reveals candidate’s tangible (rather than declared) skills a critical distinction for selecting top few prospects among thousands found.

 

4. Searching Passive Talent

It finds candidates who do not post resumes on job-boards or maintain profiles on LinkedIn and are never solicited by recruiters.
